Our visiting Orthodontist, Dr Daxter Yeo is here to help children and adults achieve an ideal bite and a straight, healthy and beautiful smile for life. Our team will monitor your child’s development and recommend intervention at the first sign of any irregularities. This can sometimes reduce treatment time or even eliminate the need for fixed braces.
Many adults too are discovering the benefits of orthodontic treatment. Tooth coloured braces and clear aligners are much less noticeable, and therefore more appealing to adults who were reluctant to undergo treatment due to the impact metal braces would have on their social and professional life.
There is no referral needed to begin your orthodontics treatment with OrthoSmile Orthodontics and we have a range of affordable treatment plans to suit you. Dr Daxter Yeo will be happy to discuss the options available to you.
Children’s Orthodontics
For children, age 7-8 is the best time to visit so as not to miss opportunities to minimise treatment. Some skeletal and dental problems are best treated early when growth is plentiful. These include widening a small upper jaw, the advancement of a small lower jaw or the advancement of a small upper jaw. However, not every child requires immediate treatment. Having a periodic assessment will allow us to monitor the child’s development, ensuring that the permanent teeth erupt, and the jaws and face continue to develop without complications.
Teenage Orthodontics
Orthodontic treatment for adolescents usually begins after all the adult teeth have come through, between the ages of 11 and 13. Following an assessment, we will discuss with you and your child the most appropriate corrective treatment and explain the options available to achieve an optimal long-term result. Treatment may vary; although it most commonly involves fixed braces. This of course will depend on your child’s personal needs.
Treatment can take 6 to 24 months, during which time we will carefully monitor you child’s progress and oral care. Regular appointments will be required to adjust and maintain the braces.
Adult Orthodontics
Orthodontics can be done at any adult age. Tooth-coloured, clear and totally invisible braces are available for the adult patients who do not wish to let anyone know they are having orthodontic treatment. With the advances in orthodontic technology, you can now even finish your orthodontic treatment faster with minimal discomfort. Adult orthodontics can also help correct tooth alignment prior to receiving dental implants, crowns or bridges.
